What is a bulky item? Bulky items refer to furniture such as mattresses and box springs, tables, chairs, bureaus, bedside stands, shelves, and other common household furniture. Large appliances are refrigerators, stoves, washer-dryers, water heaters, and air conditioners. Small appliances made of metal and less than 35 lbs. may be placed inside the blue recycle bin for recycling.
